United 4 The Dream
United 4 The Dream (U4TD), the youth-led advocacy group of the Latin American Coalition, is a passionate and committed group of young people representing immigrant and minority communities and allies who fight for equal access to higher education, civil liberties, jobs, and opportunities to succeed in life.
U4TD believes in a North Carolina where all are welcome. They believe that anti-immigrant legislation, hate speech, and bullying stand in the way of the prosperity of all who live in our great state. They believe in holding our community leaders accountable for their words and actions.
U4TD meets every other Friday at 5:30 pm here at La Coalición. Call us at 704-531-3848 to find out when the next meeting is or join our Facebook page.
College Access Para Todos
College Access Para Todos (CAPT) is a youth led, youth organized initiative designed to connect immigrant youth and their families to solutions for college access while promoting more just and equitable institutions and policies in the education system. Our goal is to dispel the myths, half-truths and vague assumptions about immigrant students’ opportunities for access to higher education, ultimately ensuring that that our community supports equal access to education for all people.
Our strategies combine direct services, outreach, and community organizing.
We conduct weekly youth workshops, monthly community forums and parent groups, and regular school-based trainings for counselors, teachers and administrators.
