Economic Mobility

La Coalición’s Worker Center provides immigrants with workforce development training and services critical to their integration and self-sufficiency. Every year more than 1,000 immigrants engage in our Worker’s Support Services.

Labor Rights

We work with immigrant workers who have been illegally denied payment by their employers, facilitate the recuperation of stolen wages and prevent exploitation through community education.

Who can get services? The Labor Rights Program provides guidance and support to any worker who has been unjustly denied payment for services rendered regardless of immigration status or national origin.

How much does it cost? Thanks to generous community donations all services of the Labor Rights Program are free of charge.

How can I get help? If you believe you have been a victim of wage theft or other labor rights violation the first step is to attend a Conozca sus Servicios workshop which is held twice a month at the Coalition. Contact us to learn when the next workshop will be. Subsequently, a case management plan will be established with a staff member. For additional information please contact us at (980) 349 6237 or in person.

Workforce Education

We offer workforce development, small business development, financial literacy, and labor right’s classes and workshops.

Who can get services? Workforce Education classes and consultations are available to anyone regardless of immigration status or national origin.

How much does it cost? Thanks to generous community donations most classes and consultations are free of charge. Business Development Classes charge a nominal fee to cover the costs of books and materials.

How can I get help? For information about our classes, please contact the Immigrant Welcome Center at 704-531-3848 or via email. Our online calendar of classes can be found here.  For additional information, you can also visit our blog

We connect immigrant workers to employment opportunities and help entrepreneurs develop their own small businesses.

Who can get services? Our Employment support services are open to all people regardless of immigration status or national origin. We are not an employment or staffing agency and do not screen job applicants for work eligibility or assume the role of the employer for those we serve.

How much does it cost? Thanks to generous community donations all Employment Support services are free of charge.

How can I get help? Our Job Bank and technology center services are available Monday - Thursday, 9 am - 12 pm and 1 pm -  5 pm. No appointment is necessary. If you are interested in our Labor Workshops or for any other additional information please contact Francisco Hernandez by calling 704-941-6736 or via email.

If you are new to working in North Carolina and/or would like to attend an educational workshop please attend out free Employment Workshop which is every Wednesday at 9:30 am. No registration is necessary.
