Immigration Law Clinic
The Latin American Coalition’s Immigration Legal Clinic (ILC) offers affordable legal services and low-cost representation for Charlotte's low income immigrant community, regardless of immigration status or nationality, and empowers the community to know their rights and pursue legal remedies they may qualify for, while also engaging in systemic advocacy to improve immigrants’ lives.
Any immigrant, regardless of nationality, in North Carolina earning less than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines who qualifies for some form of legal remedy may qualify for our services. All clients must travel to the Coalition office in Charlotte unless participating in a workshop or clinic at another location. Intake is conducted on Mondays from 9am-12pm, for a $25 fee.
The Clinic is a fee-for-service model. The fees we charge are 15-25% of what you would pay at a private immigration firm. We believe that cost should not be a prohibitive factor in being able to get legal services, and offer various payment plans options for many of our cases.
