2009 CULTURAL TERTULIA SERIES
Tertulias Latinoamericanas is a year-long series of art & culture celebrations, highlighting the unique flavors, customs, and artistic traditions of individual Latin American countries. Each tertulia explores the cultural heritage of one country, featuring traditional dancing, indigenous customs, singing, folkloric interpretations, authentic foods and exhibitions of hand-made crafts and artisan ware. Designed to increase appreciation of the diversity and richness of cultural forms in Latin America, each Tertulia attracts around 300 guests or a total of 2,000 people every year.

Charlotte, N.C. – Welcome to Peru! is an evening event where the native dances from Peru, the exotic music with influences from Europe, Africa and ancient Incas will be performed. The Latin American Coalition cordially invites you to celebrate the culture of Peru at Welcome to Peru!.
This family friendly celebration will feature Peruvian songs performed by the international Peruvian singer Iraida Valdivia , with the local musical group “Son Peru,” and the folkloric dances of Contigo Peru
