Immigrant Welcome Center Assistant (Internship or Volunteer Position)

Min. 6 hrs/week

The Immigrant Welcome Center  Assistant will support the Immigrant Welcome Center Manager by staffing the front desk; answering phones, greeting clients, conducting intake, assisting clients with basic tasks such as phone calls, site translations, and making copies. Also, the IWC Assitant will help by inputing client data, and working on projects such as updating resource lists, conducting research, etc. This position is great for students interested in Health & Human Services, Social Work, or case management!

Required Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Detail orientated
  • Ability to direct flow of clients
  • Patience with individuals experiencing crisis
  • ***English/Spanish language skills required (Speaking/Reading/Writing)

Time Committment: 

  • Summer
  • 6 hrs/week minimum
  • Must be available during business hours (9 AM - 5 PM) on weekdays
