MY CULTURE

I am from Mexico City and I have been living in the United States since 2012. I am passionate about family, social justice, service, dogs, food, and soccer. After working in the U.S., I have seen firsthand the challenges that immigrants face on a daily basis.

 

MY IMPACT

I support the Coalition at the Legal Clinic and the Advocacy and Community Education Center to achieve our goals of empowering our community and improving immigrants' lives.

I was born and raised in Costa Rica, living in the states since Dec. 2001 and in Charlotte Since Nov. 2002. My career focus for the past 10 years has been Substance use and prevention in NC. Also, I served as a Latino Facilitator with the Union Co. Health Department for the last 7 Years "Parenting with Purpose" program. 

 

MY IMPACT

I am glad to be able to help my community and being part of the Latin American Coalition is a great pride, since this organization has impacted my life in so many ways. Looking forward to being the support my Latinos in Charlotte need.

MY CULTURE

I was born in La Unión, El Salvador; and settled in Charlotte when I was 8 years old. I have been living in Charlotte since.

My IMPACT

There is a Nigerian Proverb that says: "It is the heart that does the giving; the fingers only let go" I firmly believe helping others heal is how we make a difference. My duties are to connect people with resources available, build resumes and cover letters for people, and with any workforce development.

MY CULTURE 
I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Went to College and graduated from La Salle University with a 5 years professional degree in Business Administration. Came to the United States 14 years ago and lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado until we decided to relocate to Lake Wylie, South Carolina on July of 2017. I love the diversity that the States of North and South Carolina offer in culture, food and environment.

MY IMPACT
I love helping the immigrant community to achieve their goals and continue working for a better future by providing the most professional and accurate legal help they can find. Not only I enjoy counseling them in their immigration processes but also sharing time and experiences with them.

I am the daughter of Costa Rican immigrant parents, born in Miami, Florida.  I moved to North Carolina right after Hurricane Andrew and grew up in a small town.  After graduating high school, I moved to Charlotte for college and fell in love with the diversity in the city.
 
MY IMPACT
I have a passion for service and a firm belief that immigrants are a vital part of what make this country so great.  Therefore, I feel incredibly blessed to be in the position to assist my community in their journey to obtain the American Dream.

MY CULTURE

I am the daughter of Mexican immigrants who left Monterrey, Mexico to make North Carolina their new home in the early 90s. I was born and raised in Raleigh and moved to Charlotte for college. At UNCC I study Spanish and Latin American Studies to celebrate my heritage as a US-born Latina. 

 

MY IMPACT

Service to the Latino community has also been central to my life and AmeriCorps is a perfect avenue through which to serve my community. As the volunteer coordinator, I recruit, train, and support volunteers and interns who are essential to the functioning of our organization.

I am from Medellin - Colombia and I live in the USA since 2015, since I arrived in this city I've had the great opportunity to work with and for the Hispanic community of Charlotte, in this way I have seen the necessities that we face daily, in love with the healthy life and the family union, but above all a faithful believer of the phrase "who doesn't live to serve, doesn't serve to live"

In collaboration with the Executive Director and the special events team, plan and implement strategies to generate more revenue opportunities and sponsorship through our events, and thus integrate the Hispanic community
