“Thank you for contacting La Coalición. We only collect information you choose to give us, and we process it with your consent. We fully comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidance. Only require the minimum amount of personal information that is necessary to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with us (such as email address, name, phone number). As a registered non-profit organization, we are granted privacy protections and are not obligated to share or provide your information to any private or public institution. We do not sell to third parties and maintain high confidentiality standards. Staff or any person engaged in support of our direct services sign Privacy Agreements and receive training associated with those privacy protocols. We manage contact information in secure sites, only accessible to specific staff. We provide the same standard of privacy protection to all user, regardless of citizenship status, origin or location.”

José Hernández-París was born in Colombia and has lived in Charlotte for 45 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Educational Leadership and a minor in Applied Psychology from Belmont Abbey College. He has a Nonprofit Management Certification from Duke University. Hernandez-Paris was a former executive director of The International House, led the Diversity Office of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and in January 2016, became the chief executive officer of the Latin American Coalition. He has been recognized as a Community Service Person of the Year by the Excelente Awards (La Noticia Newspaper); A Hero of Democracy by The Charlotte Observer; Father of the Year by the Father’s Day Council; a Hometown Hero by WBT Radio and the Business Journal; The Cesar Chavez Liderazgo Award by Leadership in the Clouds; and Crown Jewel Award for Advocacy Organization of the Year (Mecklenburg County Government).
Sorayda is an immigrant in the U.S since 2012, originally from Mexico, she grew a passion for service the community when she arrived in this country and felt a sense of responsibility to help hother immigrants in the community integrate and find her place in this new country. That is why she loves her job at La Coalicion.
She studied Communications in Mexico where she worked as a journalist and has a Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies at UNCC.
Soy Constanza Gomez-Giraldo, conocida entre amigos y miembros de la comunidad como Connie o TaTa. Naci en Colombia, soy Administradora de Empresas con enfasis en Turismo, hoteleria y masters en Gerencia y Recursos Humanos.
Amo la naturaleza, los viajes, la practica de yoga, el voleibol, la buena musica y compartir con familia y amigos.
Desde el ano 2020, hago parte del equipo humano de La Coalicion, ofreciendo mi pasion por servir, apoyo y soluciones a los hispanos que contactan el Centro Economico y Laboral, donde actualmente me desempeno como Manager.
I was born and raised in West Michigan by two working class Mexican immigrants. I graduated from Duke University in 2019 with a degree in Cultural Anthropology. I have been working at the Latin American Coalition for three years and am the current Grants and Member Services Coordinator. Previously, I worked within our Youth Education & Opportunity Center.
