“Discover more about the Coalition’s Amigos program and join us in making a difference.”

Through the Amigos Campaign, the Latin American Coalition invites you to be part of an artistic installation that reflects how a community works together in a transformation of positive change in the Queen City.

"Building Community: Support Phase 1 of Our Campaign to Create
'Plaza Las Mariposas'"

In the initial stage of this campaign, your participation as a supporter will contribute to the creation of “Plaza Las Mariposas,” a communal area for our community. This space will serve as a venue for weekend community markets and various events for our neighborhood. Your backing for this initiative is crucial in fulfilling our mission, which is to establish a path toward equity and inclusivity in our diverse society. Our objective for the inaugural year is to raise $100,000, and your donation plays a significant role in achieving this aim.

"Join Us as a Friend!
Leave Your Mark with a Butterfly on Our Building"

By purchasing one of the butterflies that will be installed on the facade of the Latin American Coalition building, you will be helping us reach our first-year goal of $100,000 for the construction of our Plaza Las Mariposas. This plaza will provide a space for community gatherings, offering a pathway to equity and belonging in a more inclusive and diverse society. Your support in this campaign’s early stages will contribute to the development of Plaza Las Mariposas, which will serve as a venue for weekend community markets and various events for our neighborhood. Your contribution is vital in fulfilling our mission to establish a path toward equity and inclusivity in our diverse society, and our goal for the inaugural year is to raise $100,000. Your donation plays a significant role in achieving this aim.

The butterflies will be installed quarterly on the final Saturday of every three months during an event that will welcome new friends and members of the press.

Workshop Opportunities:

Engage in collaborative workshops with companies and corporations through the Amigos Program, offering participation at the Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels.

Host exclusive workshops tailored to your chosen level, with coordination adjusted based on participant numbers. Led by a professional artist, these workshops include a clay session where attendees can create personalized butterflies for installation on the building’s facade, complete with their tag names.

Look forward to two annual large workshops, one in the fall and the other in the springtime (date and time to be announced soon). These workshops allow individuals to participate at the minimum level, customizing butterflies with their names. For more details on workshop opportunities, please contact cdo@mylac.org.

Purpose Statement

Join us in celebrating our anniversary in November by participating in our Amigo Volunteer Day. As an amigo, you’ll have the chance to engage in volunteer work across different areas of the coalition. Collaborate closely with our area directors to gain valuable insights into our services and the dedicated staff behind them.

Promote the Latin American Coalition by sharing information about the organization and its services with your network. Encourage others to contribute to LAC through donations, volunteering, or other means of support.

Contribute to the Latin American Coalition by making a financial donation, either as a one-time gift or through ongoing support. Your donations assist LAC in sustaining and enhancing its services, guaranteeing a lasting positive effect on the community.

As an Amigo, it’s essential to amplify the voices of the  community served by the nonprofit. This includes sharing stories and perspectives from  those directly impacted by the organization’s work.

Promote the program through the nonprofit’s website, social media, and  other communication channels to recruit new Amigos. Encourage individuals from diverse  backgrounds to participate and provide training and resources to help them understand  the experiences of marginalized groups.

Encourage Amigos to connect with one another and create a  supportive community. This may involve regular meetings or events where allies can share
experiences and learn from one another.

In summary, the LAC Amigos Program aims to build a stronger, more inclusive community  and promote social justice. By engaging allies and providing resources and support, LAC  can create a more equitable and welcoming environment for all.
